Sand-to-sea accretion project (low profile feeder) – Southern Coastal

The project’s aim was to extend the life of Mine.
It was decided during an Accretion model adjustment that part of the accretion strategy would be to implement two additional Conveyor Systems in the U-blocks in Southern Coastal Mines which indicated by doing this the life of mine can be extended to beyond 2028.
Each system consisted of a 1.5km Overland Conveyor, 300 meter Camelback conveyor as well as 42 meter Radial Stacker conveyor system, operating at 1000 tph.
Both these systems were fully commissioned in 2015 / 2016.
