Concentrated feed prep upgrade (ausmelt furnace) – Tsumeb Copper Smelter

ADP was asked to provide the engineering and detail design to upgrade the infrastructure and materials handling system providing concentrated feed to the Ausmelt Furnace. .

The scope included the design of a tripper car conveyor, redesign of receiving bins and discharge feeders, evaluation, and upgrade of feed conveyors from the feed prep plant to Ausmelt furnace.

The Engineering included expert bulk materials handling design which involved material flow test work and bulk solids flow analysis on bin and chute designs.

Feeders and conveyors were designed to accommodate the revised bin loadings, pressures and required feed rates.

Project duration – July 2019 to November 2021.
