Community Engagements

We are committed to contributing to the communities in which we live and work, creating meaningful change and a positive legacy.

Our community engagement strategy extends across our operations, whether it’s working with our clients to build relationships with the communities in which our projects are delivered, supporting life-changing charities and education programmes, or partnering with our staff on initiatives that are close to their own hearts.

In 2021, an in-house foundation was established, to provide a formal vehicle for the administration of our philanthropic, community engagement and sponsorship activities.  The foundation provides support to initiatives that are aligned with the intrinsic philosophies and values of the organisation across four key pillars, being social development, education, innovative thinking and environmental sustainability.

Support provided may be monetary, in-kind (professional time), volunteering or donation of equipment / materials (singular or a combination of some or all).

Graduate Development Programme

ADP Group welcomes new graduates into the program

ADP’s Graduate Development Program (GDP) is structured to give our graduates broad exposure and a comprehensive learning experience across the business, encompassing on-the-job learning (both office and site-based), support and mentoring, self-paced online learning based on practical modules authored by our own people, and group activities, including social events.

To facilitate exposure to ADP’s different disciplines early in their career, graduates are rotated through Projects, Engineering and Project Services over the course of the two-year program.

Internship case studies

ADP is proud to regularly host scholars and tertiary students at our Cape Town office, offering them valuable exposure to the engineering world. Through our graduate program, we attract talented engineers who join us upon graduation, strengthening our team and enhancing our resourcing and succession planning.

One of our former visitors, Joshwill Mhangwana, who was a Grade 11 student from Fairmont High School, sought to explore mechanical engineering as a potential career path. To support his decision-making process, Joshwill visited our offices  to gain firsthand insight into the day-to-day responsibilities of a mechanical engineer. His assignment involved observing and documenting the workplace environment, daily schedules, and ongoing projects, allowing him to better understand the role. Following his visit, we were delighted to receive a note of appreciation from Joshwill, reflecting the positive impact of the experience.
